  • An Olympic Look of the Games graphic system is considered by many to be the largest and most complex branding exercise in the world. It is used to tell a unique story about the host region to the World and is seen on postage stamps, apparel, sporting equipment, banners, buildings, airplanes and everything in between.

The Vancouver 2010 Look of the Games graphic system is based on the West Coast environment and colours, natural and man-made textures, and iconography that reflect the intersection and fusion between man and nature, sea and sky, and the many different cultures of the host region. The sport pictograms and illustrations were developed to inspire children with their heroic depiction of winter sports and draw influence from stencil art and manga. The flexible system could be "dialed up or down" to suit the thousands of different applications required by organizing committee, sponsors, partners and licensees.

The Look of the Games graphic system was developed by Jackie Boucher,  Karen Clark, Chloé Douglas, Jason Esteban, Ben Hulse, Mélanie Kimmett, and Shawn Parkinson. Direction by Leo Obstbaum.

Games time photography by Sterling Lawrence, Rick Collins, Ben Hulse, Steve Simon, Shawn Parkinson and Blake Jorgensen.
